The PowerFool 2 makes Nitrous simple and takes away the entire headache of wiring. This system can be installed in numerous places, so if you have your own idea on an application that you would like to use you can. The PowerFool2 has many different applications that can be applied, such as the placement and the locations of your nozzles and the amount of Nitrous you would like to spray. This application can be used even if you have NOT O-ringed your heads. If you have stock heads the amount of Nitrous being sprayed should be limited.
When using the Powerfool2 we recommend using a custom burned chip that will aid in gaining the best results.

The factory-approved backpressure provides the retarding horsepower to slow down the vehicle on even the steepest descents or just slowing down for a highway off ramp.
The exhaust flow is not restricted when the stainless butterfly is open in the large 4 casting that bolts into the exhaust system.
The kit is complete with a lighted toggle switch for mounting conveniently on the dash. The brake releases as soon as the throttle is applied or the switch is flipped off. As in other BD designs, the backpressure is self-regulating. Once the pressure reaches the DuraMax specification, the butterfly position changes to maintain the highest pressure possible. This variable orifice design offers far superior retarding performance throughout the engine RPM range compared to a fixed orifice design that only offers peak retarding performance at peak rpm.
The new Allison equipped DuraMax is designed to downshift once the tow/haul button is selected, which results in a Silent Retarding Force at all vehicle speeds. Designed for the 6.6 Duramax, including the LLY engine for 04 and newer trucks.

Torque convertors in the newer trucks have 2 stages. A fluid coupling occurs first when you are starting, accelerating or pulling up a big hill. When you are cruising at a constant speed, the lock up portion of the converter is engaged and 100% of each rpm is transferred through the converter, just like a standard clutch.
The first position of the TorqLoc switch manually locks up the convertor clutch just like a standard transmission, this results in lower transmission temperature and excellent transfer of retarding hp when slowing down.
The second position returns the truck to a stock application.
The third position reverts to AutoLoc function (please review our AutoLoc page)and is good to drive in this mode 100% of the time.
The computer will automatically disengage the lock up clutch at 25 mph to prevent the engine from stalling if you forget to switch the lock up off.

AutoLoc: The BD AutoLoc is a computer that commands the torque convertor lock-up clutch to stay applied when an exhaust brake is engaged. The AutoLoc ensures that 100% of the retarding force is being transferred in 3rd and 4th gears, thus, transmission oil temperatures remain low because convertor slippage no longer occurs in these gears. The lock-up clutch and brake automatically disengage at low speeds to prevent stalling and transmission and convertor damage. The convertor lock up clutch applies with accelerator pedal pressure, and the AutoLoc captures this signal. After shifting out or into overdrive in Dodge trucks, apply heavy accelerator pedal pressure or quickly release the pedal and the lock up clutch will engage. Exhaust brakes cause high automatic fluid temperatures due to the torque converter slippage and without a AutoLoc only 10-80% of the retarding force is transferred through the (unlocked) fluid coupling of a torque convertor. You can drive the truck with the AutoLoc engaged all the time. If you experience a shutter when you slow down in over drive with the AutoLoc engaged, you need to have the AutoLoc reset to disengage at a higher vehicle speed. However, variances occur due to rear ratios and tire sizes. |

With the TorqLoc toggle switch in the first position the lock up clutch is engaged and 100% of the rpm is transferred, transmission temperatures remain low and engine retarders work at 100%. This position is manual and should only be used manually just like a gear would be selected. Factory convertor (and aftermarket) clutch and drive clutch designs have torque limitations and this function should only be used under light load and light power conditions. A adjustable pressure switch is available to disengage the lock up clutch once a set boost pressure or load has been achieved. The second position converts the application back to stock operation or it can be wired to unloc the convertor. The third position is an AutoLoc position that only maintains a lock up when the stock computer has already established a circuit. This position can be safely selected for retarding or under heavy power and load applications. This position can be selected for every day driving in all situations. The TorqLoc also has an overdrive inverter option to have the transmission start in drive. The lock up can be set to hold on untill 5-10 MPH if you have 2nd gear lock up for slow driving condidtions. |
