41562 - Power Pup Ford 03-07 6.0L or 6.4L V8 Diesel The Power Pup Downloader is a programmer/tuner that downloads horsepower and performance enhancing programs into 2003-2007 Ford Power Stroke with either a 6.0L or 6.4L V8 diesel engine in one SKU (stock keeping unit). The downloader offers up to three different Engine Tunes above stock to accomodate various driving conditions; read below for recommended use.
Engine Tuning Programs
The engine tuning options below describe what tunes are available through the Power Pup and their recommended use.
• Stock: Choosing the Stock engine tune will result in no change to engine horsepower output. All other downloader features can still be accessed if the Stock engine tune is chosen.
• Tow: This engine tune is recommended for use while towing, it is a mild tune that increases performance by 40 to 50 horsepower. This is the only tune that we recommend you tow with other than stock.
• Performance: This engine tune will yield up to 75 extra horsepower. Pyrometer and boost gauges are highly recommended while using this tune.
• Extreme: This engine tune will yield up to 120 extra horsepower. Pyrometer and boost gauges are highly recommended while using this tune. This tune is not available for the ‘08 6.4L.

1030390 - AutoLoc V2.1 AutoLoc: The BD AutoLoc is a computer that commands the torque convertor lock-up clutch to stay applied when an exhaust brake is engaged. The AutoLoc ensures that 100% of the retarding force is being transferred in 3rd and 4th gears, thus, transmission oil temperatures remain low because convertor slippage no longer occurs in these gears. The lock-up clutch and brake automatically disengage at low speeds to prevent stalling and transmission and convertor damage. The convertor lock up clutch applies with accelerator pedal pressure, and the AutoLoc captures this signal. After shifting out or into overdrive in Dodge trucks, apply heavy accelerator pedal pressure or quickly release the pedal and the lock up clutch will engage. Exhaust brakes cause high automatic fluid temperatures due to the torque converter slippage and without a AutoLoc only 10-80% of the retarding force is transferred through the (unlocked) fluid coupling of a torque convertor. You can drive the truck with the AutoLoc engaged all the time. If you experience a shutter when you slow down in over drive with the AutoLoc engaged, you need to have the AutoLoc reset to disengage at a higher vehicle speed. However, variances occur due to rear ratios and tire sizes. |

1030395 - TorqLoc v2.1 TorqLoc: Torque converters in the newer trucks have 2 stages: (1) a fluid coupling occurs first when you are starting, accelerating or pulling up a big hill, (2) when you are cruising at a constant speed the lock up portion of the converter is engaged and 100% of each rpm is transferred through the converter, just like a standard clutch. With the TorqLoc toggle switch in the first position the lock up clutch is engaged and 100% of the rpm is transferred, transmission temperatures remain low and engine retarders work at 100%. This position is manual and should only be used manually just like a gear would be selected. Factory convertor (and aftermarket) clutch and drive clutch designs have torque limitations and this function should only be used under light load and light power conditions. A adjustable pressure switch is available to disengage the lock up clutch once a set boost pressure or load has been achieved. The second position converts the application back to stock operation or it can be wired to unloc the convertor. The third position is an AutoLoc position that only maintains a lock up when the stock computer has already established a circuit. This position can be safely selected for retarding or under heavy power and load applications. This position can be selected for every day driving in all situations. The TorqLoc also has an overdrive inverter option to have the transmission start in drive. The lock up can be set to hold on untill 5-10 MPH if you have 2nd gear lock up for slow driving condidtions. |

1060380 - PressureLoc 95-03 E4OD and 4R100 €śElectronic€ in this case, refers to simply connecting to the engine heat riser valve:s control wire and signaling to close the valve. A delay of 2-3 seconds occurs before the valve closes and exhaust backpressure builds to retard the engine revolutions vehicle speed. Automatic transmission equipped trucks have this function combined with the BD AutoLoc or TorqLoc computer. These trucks only require a basic wiring harness. A stock automatic equipped Ford truck, prior to 1999, will disengage the convertor clutch when the accelerator pedal returns to idle, the brake pedal is touched or when the truck accelerates. Since 1999, the convertor clutch will remain engaged until the brake pedal is touched. When the convertor clutch is not engaged the engine free wheels and the engine rpm falls to idle with no transfer of retarding horsepower being achieved. BD:s BrakeLoc computer is designed to close the heat riser valve on the Ford Powerstroke and will maintain convertor lock up until a pre-selected vehicle speed. The BrakeLoc improves retarding horsepower from 5 RHP, when the clutch is not engaged, to 200RHP when engaged. BD advises the driver that this €śelectronic€ brake results in a extreme amount of delay or distance before retarding occurs; the amount of retarding force is 30% less than vacuum engaged BD vacuum engaged brake and 10% of the stock Ford heat riser valves that stick or bind. BD recommends, for instant and superior retarding performance, the BD Vacuum Actuated, with a variable orifice butterfly exhaust brake kit, be installed. It does cost more because of the design and kit content but it is an engineered safer retarding device. |

1080000 - Diesel X-Monitor DASH TOP / Universal Boost-Pyro Peak levels are saved in memory and can be viewed after a run. The exhaust temperatures are monitored with a Pyrometer probe inserted in the exhaust flow. The probe can be mounted before of after the turbocharger. If mounted after the turbo the temperatures will vary from 300° F to 1000° F. If mounted before the turbo temperatures of 300° F to 1200° F will be normal working levels. Select the temperatures that should not be exceeded and the numbers will flash when it is attained. It is hard to have too much turbocharger boost pressure but if you have too little under a hard pull the result can be high operating temperatures. Transmission oil temperatures will reflect how hard you are working the transmission. The oil begins to break down quickly once it reaches 270° F. Higher temperatures cause transmission life to shorten, set the limit at the 250° F and increase the operating life. We can also monitor the fuel transfer pump pressure on the ISB electronic engines. Traditional round Analog gauges and mounts are also available, please scroll the page down to view them. Stay on top of what is happening in your engine with the proper gauges from BD! The Power Pup Downloader for the 7.3L Powerstroke is new from Bully Dog Technologies. Bully Dog has merged their excellent diesel tuning knowledge into this small and easy to use downloader. The downloader plugs in through the OBDII port and gives you the option to download 50hp, 75hp or 120hp programs (on 99.5-03 models). During dyno testing on a 2000 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke the downloader added 60hp and 131 ft.-lbs on the 50hp setting, 78hp and 150 ft.-lbs on the 75hp setting and 119hp and 202 ft-lbs on the 120hp setting. On older 94-98 Ford Powerstroke's the maximum horsepower seen on the dyno is around 60hp. Power Pup will also remove the speed-limiter (99-newer only) and can erase engine Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) on all models. |
