Proms and Programmed ECMs: Your 6.5 Turbo Diesel power can be enhanced with a exchange ECM from BD. They will produce a 30-40 horsepower increase and 60-90 lbs foot of torque. We also have modified the transmission shifting to take advantage of this performance increase. On 96-00 models, we program the computer with performance curves and replace the complete computer. On 1994 & 1995 trucks, we simply replace the E-prom located in the computer mounted behind the glove box. GM 1992 & 1993 model engines are mechanically, rather than electronically-controlled. Enhance engine horsepower by installing a BD turbo waste-gate control, a larger exhaust system, and a higher flow air intake system to increase airflow and reduce exhaust temperatures. Unless the individual product has been identified with a CARB# this product may only be used in California for Race applications and not be used on a highway.

The new van Aaken Smartbox E DuraMax box features:
- Switch on the fly power levels off 70Hp 150 ft lbs & 110 hp 250 Ft Lbs.
- Works great for Standard transmissions.
- Does not change throttle response, no touchy throttle.
- Power increase is achieved by changing the duration the injector nozzle is open and by altering the time of injection.

DynoMite/van Aaken Smart D 2.0 DuraMax box produces 50 RWHP and 100 lbs. ft. of torque or you can also select the economical 30 RWHP setting or just run stock power with the switch option. This box is a mild box that has CARB approval. It can also be modified for use with the ez Amp (piggy backed) to achieve over 400 RWHP.
Caution... Piggy Backing will destroy stock Allison transmissions but not BD's Allison rebuild!! |

EZ AMP
for DuraMax and Allison performance tuning provides 4 Levels of power from 30 Hp and 150 lbs ft. to 90 Hp and 250 lbs ft of torque that are set through a routine with the ignition key, accelerator pedal and gear shift lever. The new Attitude remote control has power level control on the fly! Hot Amp/Juice race files are also available for your current model or can be purchased new.
The engine performance is achieved by increasing the duration of the injection and the time it occurs. The power is only available once the engine is up to 80% of the engines operating temperature and is programmed to occur early in the throttle pedal travel. Transmission monitoring occurs and if clutch slippage is indicated the power is backed down to stock levels and then gradually stepped back in. The power also is backed off when shifting occurs into or when in convertor lock. Installation is EZ with factory specified plugs. |

XMonitor
What good is all this new power if you can`t monitor it? Enter BD`s X Monitor. Its readout mounts inside a nice module that is positioned on the driver`s side A-pillar. Seen are all three functions at the same time: transmission temperature, exhaust temperature and turbo boost pressure. All three have limits, and these numbers are downloaded into the X Monitor. When any are met or exceeded, the monitor face flashes a warning that can`t be missed.
Benefits of installing the XMonitor:
- Operating pressures and temperatures can easily be read with a simple glance.
- The display brightness can be set for driver comfort.
- The peak operating levels can be set to flash warning for safety.
- The low mount does not restrict vision.

The 6.5 injector is referred to as a pintle style injector, which is commonly used in an engine with pre-combustion cylinders. The injector has a needle plunger that plugs off the spray hole when it is closed. Once the pump allows fluid flow to the particular cylinder, the high fuel pressure forces the pintle away from the hole seat and the fuel stream is injected through the pre-combustion chamber into the combustion chamber. This type of engine often runs dirtier than a direct injected engine and the injectors require replacing between 80-100 thousand miles.
We offer new high flow Bosch injectors for this application or new stock injectors as well. |

The DuraMax Exhaust Brake is now Available!
BD Engine Brakes enable your Diesel to navigate downhill grades and mountainous terrain easier and safer than using the vehicle's conventional braking system. This will increase the life of the stock foundation brakes and also prevent brake fade under severe grade driving. The factory-approved backpressure provides the retarding horsepower to slow down the vehicle on even the steepest descents or just slowing down for a highway off ramp. The exhaust flow is not restricted when the stainless butterfly is open in the large 4” casting that bolts into the exhaust system. The kit is complete with a lighted toggle switch for mounting conveniently on the dash. The brake releases as soon as the throttle is applied or the switch is flipped off. As in other BD designs, the backpressure is self-regulating. Once the pressure reaches the DuraMax specification, the butterfly position changes to maintain the highest pressure possible. This variable orifice design offers far superior retarding performance throughout the engine RPM range compared to a fixed orifice design that only offers peak retarding performance at peak rpm.
The new Allison equipped DuraMax is designed to downshift once the tow/haul button is selected, which results in a Silent Retarding Force at all vehicle speeds. |
